Blood drives set in Fairfield, Richland

The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has scheduled two blood drives in Fairfield and Richland.

The blood drive in Fairfield will be 2-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building. Donors can give blood every eight weeks. Those who last gave on or before Dec. 11 are eligible to give again. Walk-in donors are welcome, but those who would like an appointment can call 800-452-1097.

The blood drive in Richland will be 2-6:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at Mother Cabini Parish Center. Those who last donated blood on or before Dec. 17 can give again. Walk-in donors are welcome, but those who would like an appointment can call Cindy Adam at 319-456-2722.

Donors must be at least 16 years old, in good health and weigh at least 110 ponds. A blood donor card or other photo identification is required. Sixteen-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form each time they donate. Forms are available at www.bloodcenter.org.

The blood center?s mobile unit drew 27 pints of blood Jan. 24 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.
