BLOOD DRIVES: Stockport

STOCKPORT - The Stockport community will host a blood drive from 3-6 p.m. Thursday at the Stockport American Legion Hall.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Oct. 18 are eligible to give at this drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with a parental permission form can donate; the form is available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Van Buren County Hospital.
