Bonaparte ? Characters of Bonaparte?s past will come to life at 6 p.m. April 25 at the Bonaparte Main Street?s annual Taste of History.
Performing in costume and character, local individuals will relate stories throughout the evening.
?For several years we hosted a cemetery tour,? said Bonaparte Main Street manager Bonnie Cass. ?But the event was costly with bus rentals, took a great deal of work for actors to create graveside sets, guests had to walk and stand on uneven ground for lengths of time and the tours were always dependent on the weather.?
By moving the cemetery tour to the opera house, guests are allowed not only the tour experience, but are able to sit for the performances and enjoy a meal. Most of the tables will be designed and set by the actors reflecting the era, story or character they portray. The actors also serve as waiters throughout the evening, allowing guests to have a more personal connection.
Reservations for the event are required, and seating is limited. For information or to make reservations, contact the Bonaparte Main Street office at (319) 592-3400. Tickets are $20 per person.
