Bonaparte to host Music Bonanza
Nov. 1, 2021 2:12 pm
The third annual Bonaparte Music Bonanza will be held in the gymnasium of the Bonaparte Community Improvement Building (former school) on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12-13 at 7 p.m.
On the night of the Saturday show, a Soup Supper will be held in the cafeteria (by freewill donation) starting at 5:30 pm.
“This annual event features many very talented vocalists and musicians from the Tri-State area,” stated a news release from Bonnie Cass.
Each performer volunteers their time to perform at this fundraiser. Proceeds from this event go toward the upkeep of the former school building. The building has become a hub for community events, as well as for weddings and family or class reunions.
Members of the 2021 Music Bonanza cast will be performing music from a variety of genres. Last year, the cast welcomed members of the Hissem family to the show. They are returning to perform as the Hissem Family Campfire group which includes three generations.
What do they say? “The family that sings together stays together.”
Several brothers and sisters are performing in the show. The last couple of years, the fans were surprised to hear the deep vocals of young Justin Snider. His sister Jolene Snider is also a crowd favorite when she takes over the microphone. Another brother and sister that perform are Jed Westercamp and his twin sister Tianna Fincher. They also have both been performing since they were teenagers.
Though they are young, the Meek brothers Isaiah and Jackson Meek have been developing their talents, and will return to play their instruments.
Brandon Cochenour started singing in music shows when the Farmington Auctioneers used to host the Farmington Jamboree. Last year, he was accompanied by the talented Mike Browning on his guitar as he crooned to Tennessee Whiskey. Mike Browning has been on the stage playing his guitar and performing throughout the Tri-State area this past year.
Returning to the stage is a trio of harmony with Marcella Hannam, Brenda Hendrickson and Joe Short. The singing cowboy Mr. Tom Allen will again be singing a ballad or two for the crowd. A specially prepared song for the season will be sung by fan favorite and gospel singer Amy Jo Fellows.
To purchase advance tickets call: 319-561-0992 and state for which night’s performance the tickets will be for.
