A Bow Making Workshop was held Saturday and Sunday at Jefferson County Park. led by master bow maker Gene Winter of Waterloo (holding bow), the class has become a annual spring offering through the Jefferson County Conservation Board. Winter has taught the class before and is always in demand. In addition to teaching, Winter also is the owner of Winter Bow Shop. Students start with a long chunk of wood from an Osage Orange tree and are shown how to cut, shape, sand and finish the wood into a usable bow.
