Bows and Bullets 4-H members compete at state shoot

Bows and Bullets 4-H shooting Sports Club members participated at the State 4-H Shooting Match at the Brownell?s Big Springs Shooting Range near Montezuma on Saturday. It is a time for them to showcase their skills against other 4-H members from around the state. One hundred and forty-eight 4-H members from 30 counties participated in this annual State competition in Air Rifle, Smallbore, Archery, Muzzleloader and Shotgun disciplines.
4-H members Joe Dunbar (clay targets), Richard Dunbar (clay targets) , Hunter Mast (clay targets), Brock Schaedler (compound archery and .22 rifle), and Zane Fisher (compound archery) all represented Bows and Bullets. Schaedler placed third with a 195/200 score. Fisher placed fourth with a 193/200. Brock also earned third place in smallbore (.22 caliber rifle) with a score of 140/200.
The new 4-H year is now under way, and Bows and Bullets are accepting new members and volunteers to participate in contests like the State Shoot. For more information contact club leaders Donald Pfeiffer at 319-653-4912 or Marvin Mast at 319-530-2098.
