Boy Scouts of America announces annual scouting for Food Drive

On Saturday, March 13, nearly 1,700 Scouts and Cub Scouts will be going door-to-door to deliver Scouting for Food bags throughout their neighborhoods in Iowa and Illinois. Scouts will then return on March 20 to collect the donated non-perishable food items left outside.
All food remains in the area in which it is collected. The Scouts are asking for the community's assistance in collecting food items to be donated to local food pantries/banks in the Tri-State Area.
Scouts will collect from 9 a.m. to noon in the Iowa counties of: Lee, Des Moines, Henry, Louisa, and Van Buren.
Types of food needed: Non-perishable items only, preferably canned goods. (Examples: canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meats, rice, beans, - nothing frozen or in glass containers)
Food may also be delivered to a local county market store or delivered to either of the Scout Service Centers at:
' 2522 Locust St 3007 Flint Hills Dr., and;
' Quincy, IL 62301 Burlington, IA 52601.
The Mississippi Valley Council operates in 13 counties in the Illinois, Iowa, Missouri Tristate Area, serves 1,700 youth, and is a United Way Partnering agency.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
