Wednesday, March 6, 2019, is Ash Wednesday and a Pancake Supper will be held preceding the service at 6:30 p.m., with the service at 7 p.m. at the Ainsworth Community Church.
Please note daylight saving time begins Sunday, March 10, 2019. Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour.
Thinking ahead, the Spring Cleanup at the church is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 9 a.m. All who are able to help are encouraged to come and help clean both the church grounds and inside the church. Please bring your own yard tools. Windows need to be washed, pews vacuumed and whereever else is needed.
Rain date is scheduled for Saturday, March 30. If a CPR class is meeting on this day, plan to do the inside cleaning on March 23.
A note from former Crawfordsville resident, Emily Lewis Boylan: Being a part of a military family will take you to many unexpected and often exciting places. This move to Oregon was just that. These past few weeks were spent exploring many new states and seeing some beautiful sites. Since the start of the journey from North Carolina, we have driven through a total of 12 different states with a longer break in Iowa, which was almost halfway through, with parents, Duane and Ann Lewis at Crawfordsville and sisters and their families, Alisha and Levi Kelley, Cecil and Leah of Wellman and Wendy and Derek Imhoff, Brad and Orie of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and Emily's grandmother, Mildred Houseal of Washington.
We were able to have Grandma Ann Lewis join us on our long, adventurous road trip through many mountains and snowy roads that made travel very interesting to say the least. But through those somewhat scary roads, we were able to see some breathtaking views only the mountains can provide. We are happy to say that we made it safely to Oregon and look forward to getting to know the area and enjoy our time here.
Our family was relocated with the military, which happens about every three years and husband, Scott, will be working with the Marine reservists to get them prepared for anything that may arise to support the needs of the country.
Our thanks to everyone for their continued support and prayers. They are much appreciated.
Grandma Ann returned home Saturday from Oregon.
