Boylan receives Quilt of Valor

Scott and Jeanne Davis presented a Quilt of Valor to Scott Boylan on Saturday, November 6, 2021 for his many years of service to this country. Scott served 22 years in the Marines and was a Combat Vet in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Scott is the husband of Emily Lewis Boylan and the son-in-law of Duane and Ann Lewis. He and Emily have two daughters, four year old Ryleigh and two year old Avery.
This is Scott's first year as a Marine Veteran as he retired this spring.
The Quilt of Valor program began in November of 2003. Scott's quilt was made by Janice Wauson of Des Moines.
Lions Club meets
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, November 8, 2021 for their 6:30 p.m. dinner meeting at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 13 members present.
Lion President Gene Miller called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Larry Love gave the invocation.
Following a delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler the meeting reconvened.
Lion Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the October 25, 2021 meeting and they were approved as read. Lion Treasurer Finke gave his report.
Old Business: The town Christmas lights will be put up on Saturday, November 27 at 9 a.m. Lion Finke will furnish his boom truck to do this. Lion Lintz will be contacted to check the lights prior to installation. Lion Swailes will contact someone to be Santa for the Christmas drawing. It was once again mentioned that the annual Christmas party will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in Kalona. Choices of menu will be decided at the next meeting.
New Business: The usual donations will be made to L.C.I.F. and the Iowa Lions Foundation.
There being no further business to come before the club, the meeting adjourned.
Tail Twister Fletcher entertained everyone with some History of Crawfordsville.
