Very much like Cleveland's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, Iowa needs to have a special place for our history of writers, artists, and future storytellers. Stories Project: Let’s Make Iowa a Global Capital of Storytelling is coming to Fairfield with Founder Brent Stinski.
Kurt Vonnegut, John Irving, Flannery O’Connor — all, at some point, called Iowa City home. Writers with Iowa ties have helped create modern classics like "Field of Dreams" and contemporary hits such as "The Avengers" and "Game of Thrones." Iowa City, truly, is America’s capital of storytelling.
In this session, Stories Project Executive Director Brent Stinski will outline one great way to capitalize on this legacy: building the Stories Project museum, a vibrant, interactive destination to celebrate storytelling and encourage all Americans to read. Stories Project also offers great opportunities for the state as a whole.
Come listen to Stinski at noon, Thursday, Sept. 18 at the CoLab on the Fairfield square (old bank building on the NE corner)
