Washington County Hospital and Clinics (WCHC) is pleased to announce that Brian Bockting has been promoted to Director of Laboratory and Rehabilitation Services. Brian joined WCHC's leadership team in July 2018 as the Director of Laboratory Services. In his new role, Brian will provide oversight in administration, budgeting, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance of the Lab and Rehabilitation Departments.
Brian replaces Liz Miksch, longtime Rehabilitation Services Director after her retirement earlier in July.
'This change in our leadership structure better aligns our patient care areas and supports our strategic initiatives,” stated Andrea Leyden, Chief Nursing Officer of WCHC. 'Not only does Brian possess the technical know-how, he is a strong leader that works to motivate those around him for our shared vision of health care excellence. I am very positive of the continued impact he will make to our services and the care we provide at WCHC in this new combined role.”
Before joining WCHC in July 2019, Brian spent 25 years in health care serving in leadership positions in Laboratories for Unity Point and Henry County Health Center. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa, College of Medicine. He is credentialed through the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
