Lucy Dietzman of Keosauqua provided the noon meal of March 17 at the home of her mother, Winifred Fritz of Brighton.
They were joined that afternoon and evening by Winifred's children: Tony and Lynn Fritz of Brighton, Charles and Debi Fritz with Jess of Sigourney and Nathan, who was home from Pella on spring break, and Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield. They all provided the evening meal.
Jason Roberts of Brighton enjoyed dining at Mi Pueblo Real in Washington on March 20. He met cousins Josh and Tammy of Crawfordsville.
A celebration was held March 20 at Riverside III in Fairfield. Gerald Pacha of Brighton and twin sister Ceri Scheller of Emporia, Kansas, celebrated their birthdays. They were joined by siblings from Davenport, Newton, Washington and Fairfield.
Twenty-three people played 10-point pitch on March 19 at the Brighton Community Building.
The woman winners were Kate Pacha and Ann Snyder. Bob Shelangoski and Marlin Smith were the male winners.
Brighton Chamber will be holding their annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 13 at 10 a.m. at the Brighton City Park. Kids up to fourth grade are welcome to participate. Don't forget a bag.
The weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting was held at the Brighton Church of God Thursday, March 21. Two dozen people (from the Brighton, Wayland, Washington, Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield areas) heard a lesson on the importance for healing of deep reflection on both the positive and negative events in one's life. The next meeting, open to anyone with a hurt, habit or hangup, will be held Thursday, March 28 beginning at 6 p.m. with a free meal.
CORRECTION: Winifred Fritz's brother, Herb Moeller of Wever, suffered a stroke, not a heart attack. He is recuperating at home.
