Gerald and Rosemary Pacha celebrated Father?s Day with their son-in-law and daughter, Brian and Jennifer Phillips of Johnston. After church services they traveled to Ames for dinner and spent the afternoon visiting the Reiman Gardens. This year?s theme at the garden was ?Space and Science Fiction.? Gerald and Rosemary Pacha celebrated Father?s Day with their son-in-law and daughter, Brian and Jennifer Phillips of Johnston. After church services they traveled to Ames for dinner and spent the afternoon visiting the Reiman Gardens. This year?s theme at the garden was ?Space and Science Fiction.? The Phillipses? daughter, Aurora, loved looking for the 13 different alien creatures scattered around the garden.
The members of Horizon are asking for volunteers to work in the community garden. It is located in the 500 block of South Jefferson Street in Brighton. The planting and mulching are almost completed, but volunteers are needed. For information, please call Shirley Schooley at 694-5365, or Harold and Louise Frakes at 694-3078.
Mary Stecker with her fiancé, Joel, and her daughter, Bridget Hollingsworth, all of Fairfield, visited her mother, Winifred Fritz, on June 15.
Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met June 17 at the home of Shirley Schooley. Nineteen members and one guest were present. Initiation of a new member was held. Shirley gave the program on Founders Day. They will vacation through the summer months.
Pat Remington of Brighton with son Travis of Ainsworth visited her mother, Dorothy Babberl of Windsor Heights, June 12-14. They were joined by Pat?s sister Kathy of Chariton. On June 13 they visited Pat?s sister Cindy at the hospital. They also saw her husband, Steve, and daughters Heather and Megan. On June 14, Megan with Lydia and Jordon of Altoona packed a picnic lunch. Dorothy, Pat, Kathy, Travis, and Heather with Arhya and Bailynn with friend Steven met at Megan?s home. They enjoyed the picnic at a nearby park. The children enjoyed the pool.
Pat received a call informing her of the death of her sister Cindy Nation, of Des Moines, on June 15.
