The Krony Krew Bridge Club met on Oct. 28 at the home of Dorothy Miller. Elaine Watson of Richland was a guest. Their next meeting will be held Nov. 11 at the home of Phyllis Scheeler.
Lucy Dietzman with Branden and Malcolm of Keosauqua provided the noon meal of Oct. 25 at the home of her mother, Winifred Fritz. They were joined by Winifred?s granddaughter, Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield, who was returning from Chicago. Later that evening, Winifred and Bridget enjoyed the meal provided by Bridget?s parents, Mary and Joel Boatright of Fairfield.
A party was held at the home of Nolan and Kelli Symmonds in Kalona on Oct. 24. They celebrated Nolan?s 30th birthday and their son Cameron?s first birthday. Approximately 75 friends and relatives attended the party. Among the guests were his grandmother, Winifred Fritz of Brighton, who attended with Mary and Joel Boatright of Fairfield.
Rosemary and Gerald Pacha of Brighton and Jean Frazer of Iowa City were birthday dinner guests of Jennifer and Brian Phillips of Johnston, Sunday, Oct. 25. They celebrated the birthdays of their daughter, Jennifer, and their grandson, Ames. Ames was 2 years old, and the theme of the party was dinosaurs.
The St. Joseph and Cabrini Altar and Rosary monthly meeting was held last Tuesday at 6 p.m. Bazaar reports were reviewed. Susan Ruttledge attended the Family Meeting With the Pope in Philadelphia, and gave a very nice report of the event. She traveled with the bus group who went from Des Moines.
The Wayland Area Antique Tractor Club met for its monthly meeting on the second Monday of the month, Oct. 12. They went over plans for the Plowing Day to be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, beginning at 9 a.m. Plans were also made for the yearly fall soup supper to be held Monday evening, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the group can contact Dan Mottet of Brighton or Norm Boshart of Wayland, or any other tractor member of the group.
