Gerald and Rosemary Pacha?s family were visiting over Labor Day. Son Jeff and Michelle Pacha and family of Wichita, Kansas, and daughter Jennifer and Brian Phillips and family of Johnston spent the weekend. Gerald paraded his tractor each day at Old Thresher?s. Grandson Ryan Pacha of Kansas got to ride with Grandpa Gerald and drive the tractor each day. On Sunday, grandson Ames Phillips of Johnston took his turn driving the tractor with Grandpa Gerald. They loved riding the train and looking at all the tractors. They also visited with their Uncle Ed Mineart and looked at his horses. Jeff and Michelle Pacha spent one evening in Iowa City visiting and eating out with their friend Jean Frazer.
Pfister corn plot tour and lunch was held at the Gerald Pacha farm on Wednesday evening, Sept. 14.
The Mary Circle of Brighton United Church held a meeting on Sept. 13. Eight members started at Sweet Blessings in Brighton. They had their Bible study and lesson at the home of Shirley Schooley. Shirley gave the lesson on Leah. Their next meeting will be held Oct. 11 at the home of Carolyn Christner in Wayland.
The Krony Krew Club met Sept. 14 at the home of Shirley Schooley in Brighton. Bridge was played at two tables. Their next meeting will be held Sept. 28 at the home of Phyllis Scheeler.
Winifred Fritz received a telephone call from her grandson Isaac Berry, a college student in Springfield, Missouri, on Sept. 7. She also received a telephone call on the 7th from cousin Jim Arndt of St. Joseph, Utah.
Enjoying the evening meal of Sept. 11 at Winifred?s home were her daughters, Jane Symmonds, and Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth, all of Fairfield. Mary and Bridget had made ice cream.
