Enjoying the evening meal of Sept. 13 at the home of Winifred Fritz of Brighton were her grandson J.D. and Becky Hollingsworth with Noah of Packwood. They were joined by his mother, Mary and Joel Boatright of Fairfield.
On Sept. 11, Winifred received phone calls from her grandchildren. Isaac Berry called from Kansas City, Missouri, and his sister Megan called from Odessa, Missouri.
Pat Remington of Brighton with friend Nita of Rubio were in Packwood on Sept. 12. They met Pat's grandson Cody and Mackenzie of Rose Hill and Mackenzie's brother Anthony of Oskaloosa. They dined at Pigtail Charlie's in Hedrick.
On Sept. 13, Pat and Doug and Nita Hesseltine met Cody, Mackenzie and Anthony in Oskaloosa. They dined at Taso's Pizza and Steakhouse.
Mary Boatright of Fairfield spent the afternoon of Sept. 18 with her mother, Winifred Fritz of Brighton.
On Sept. 20, Winifred was visited by grandson J.D. and Becky Hollingsworth with Noah of Packwood. They were joined by his mother Mary Boatright.
Winifred received phone calls Sept. 18 from her grandchildren Megan Berry of Odessa, Missouri, and Isaac Berry of Kansas City, Missouri. Isaac called again Sept. 22. Lucy Dietzman of Keosauqua called her mother that evening, too.
Birth
On Aug. 31, Zach and Lexy Walgren of Riverside welcomed Oakley Sage Walgren to their family. Oakley is welcomed home by her 20-month old brother, Finn. Grandparents are Lonna Blodgett of Brighton, David Walgren of Mt. Pleasant, and Len and Mary Beth Rozman of Riverside.
Lonna Blodgett hosted a birthday celebration for her grandson Hagen Pearson of Wayland on Sept. 5 at her home in Brighton. Hagen turned 10 on Sept. 8.
Those attending were Zach Walgren with Finn of Riverside, Hagen's mother and fiance Letty Nash and Landon Hesser with his sister and brother Kaliea Rude and family of Brighton, and many cousins. They enjoyed an afternoon of swimming and a meal complete with cake and ice cream.
PEO
A meeting of Chapter AQ P.E.O. of Brighton was held on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at the Rose Jaynes cottage. President Rose Jaynes read a letter from the state president. Six members attended due to the in-person modified business meeting.
Note: If anyone is interested, a group will be walking for Live Healthy Iowa on Oct. 7 at Lake Darling State Park. We will meet at 8 a.m. outside the Lodge. We plan to walk the new paved trail across the bridge. You may walk at your own speed and as far as you want. Come join us. It is beautiful. The Lake Darling Dream Team.
