Spring break brought fun times to the Gerald Pacha house. Jennifer and Brian Phillips of Johnston and their family came for the weekend. Aurora, their daughter, stayed with her Grandpa and Grandma Pacha until Wednesday, when the family left on the train for a vacation in Denver. On Thursday, Jeff Pacha and his family arrived on spring break for a week from Wichita, Kansas. They toured the Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch and the Czech Museum in Cedar Rapids one day. The boys had fun fishing in the pond and helping their grandpa on the farm.
Winifred Fritz enjoyed visits from her children and grandchildren. Daughters Lucy Dietzman with Brendan and Malcolm visited on March 17; and Mary Boatman with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield visited on March 19. Son Tony Fritz and his wife Lynn visited the evening of March 19, and provided the evening meal. Son Joe Fritz visited on March 21. Granddaughter Dawn Goltfelty with Aspen and Tytus of Bellevue, Nebraska, visited during the afternoon of March 21.
Paul Fritz celebrated his 50th birthday on March 19, with 16 family members, including sisters, brother, nieces and nephews, at the home of his parents, Janet and Sylvester Fritz.
Pat Remington traveled to Ottumwa on March 21. She met her sister Kathy of Chariton, with friend Wayne. They enjoyed dining and shopping.
Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met on March 21 at the home of Barb Mottet. Co-hostess was Arlene Fritz. Ten members answered roll call. They continued installing the officers. New committees were appointed by president Joyce Wilson. Their next meeting will be held April 4 at the home of Joyce Dunbar. Co-hostess will be Lynn Wright.
