A farewell lunch was held for Liz Gegner of Brighton on Sept. 21. Twelve friends and former classmates met at Pizza Ranch in Washington. Liz and Dale are moving to Arizona the end of September.

A farewell lunch was held for Liz Gegner of Brighton on Sept. 21. Twelve friends and former classmates met at Pizza Ranch in Washington. Liz and Dale are moving to Arizona the end of September.
Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met at the home of Karen Schafer on Sept. 20. Lou Leeper was her co-hostess. Twelve members answered roll call. After the business meeting, Karen gave the program on ?Centerpieces.? Their next meeting will be held Oct. 4 at the home of Rose Jaynes. Co-hostess will be Arlene Fritz.
Pat Remington visited her grandson and fiancée, Cody and Mackenzie of Oskaloosa, Sept. 17-18.
Joel and Mary Boatright of Fairfield visited her mother, Winifred Fritz, on Sept. 18. Also present were Mary?s children, Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield and J.D. Hollingsworth of Packwood.
The Brighton United Church Annual Windsor Chop Supper will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Oct. 31.
Brighton Volunteer Fire Department annual breakfast is scheduled for 6:30 to 10:30 a.m., Oct. 29 at Brighton Community Building.
2017 dog licenses are available for $5 from City Hall. There is a penalty for licenses purchased after Dec. 31, 2016. Dog owners must provide current rabies vaccination certificate.
Trick-or-Treating in Brighton will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31.
