Tony and Lynn Fritz celebrated their first wedding anniversary on July 10 and 12. Tony and Lynn Fritz celebrated their first wedding anniversary on July 10 and 12. A special dinner with an anniversary cake, homemade ice cream, and lots of food was held July 10 at the home of his mother, Winifred Fritz. Other family members present included Lucy Dietzman with Malcolm and Brendan of Keosauqua, Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield, Rita Berry of Bates City, Mo., and J.D. and Becky Hollingsworth of Packwood.
On July 12, Tony, Lynn and Rita went to Anamosa to dine and enjoy the scenery.
Edward Brinton of Iowa City was visited by his aunt, Ginny Brinton of Brighton, on July 10. They were joined by Edward?s two daughters and sister Barb and Bob Hawley of Naperville, Illinois.
Kathy Babberl of Chariton met her sister, Pat Remington, and friend, Charlene, in Ottumwa on July 10. They spent the afternoon dining and shopping.
The Marty Schooley family of Vernon Hills, Illinois, spent the weekend of July 8 at the home of his mother, Shirley Schooley. They were joined for lunch on July 9 by Shirley?s son Monte Schooley and family of Iowa City, and Shirley?s brother, Phil and Sandy Speidel of Mount Pleasant.
Rosemary and Gerald Pacha attended the dance recital of their granddaughter, Aurora Phillips, at the CY Stevens Auditorium in Ames, Saturday, July 2. After church services on Sunday, they enjoyed a late Father?s Day dinner with their daughter, Jennifer, and family. Earlier in the month they spent four days in Wichita, Kansas, and Fort Scott, Kansas, taking in tournament ballgames that their grandsons Ryan, Brady and Kyle Pacha were in. All in all, they saw seven different games on some very hot days. It was worth it; they won all their games.
The Krony Krew Club met on July 13 at the home of Phyllis Scheeler. Kathy Meacham of Richland was a guest. Bridge was played at two tables. Their next meeting will be on July 27 at the home of Sarah Robison.
The Mary Circle of the Brighton United Church met July 12 at the home of Mary Lu Paul. Seven members were present. Carolyn Christner gave the program on Deborah. Their next meting will be held Sept. 13 at the home of Shirley Schooley.
