Caryl Smith hosted a dinner at the Brighton Community Building on Easter. Thirty-five people attended, from Burlington, Iowa City, Keosauqua, Brighton, Washington, Fairfield, Rubio, and Chicago, Illinois. They also celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Brighton Bicentennial quilt.
Ray Plaph of Janesville, Wisconsin, was in Brighton for several days during the week of March 28. He has been helping Nelson Smith and has visited Nelson?s mother, Caryl.
Twenty-nine people celebrated Easter at the home of Winifred Fritz. Among the guests were her children and families: Joe and Lori Fritz with Michael, Sophia and Julia with friend, of Brighton; Jane and Virgil Symmonds of Fairfield, and their daughters Dawn and Josh Goltfelty with Tytus, Aspen, Grace and Brandan of Nebraska, and Rachael and Nathan Germany with Coraline and Oliver of Nevada, Iowa; Greg and Deb Fritz, their daughter Trish and Justin Copeland with Madden and Kellen, and Deb?s parents, Ron and Barb Rominger, all of Fairfield; and Mary Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield.
Jerry Roberts celebrated his birthday with his family on March 24. His wife, Deb, and their children, Jason of Brighton and Jaime of Clinton with friend of Wayland, enjoyed dinner at the Four Corners Restaurant in Lockridge. They also spent Easter Day together.
Easter was celebrated at the home of Shirley Schooley. Those present included her son Monte of Iowa City and their friend Randy Nall of Washington.
Ginny Brinton visited her brother, Fritz and Nancy Gowey of Milan, Illinois, March 25-28.
Gerald and Rosemary Pacha hosted Easter at their farm home for family and friends. After attending Easter morning services, Easter brunch was served, followed by Easter egg hunts for the kids and then for the adults. In the afternoon, they shared a Facebook video with her brother, Ed Mineart, who is recuperating in the hospital in Davenport. Their daughter Jennifer and Brian Phillips and children Aurora and Ames came from Johnston. Her sister, Chris and Scott Turnipseed, came from Moline, Illinois. Jean Frazer came from Iowa City. Katie McClurg came from Washington. Henry and Denise Mineart and daughters Shelby and Rachel were from Brighton.
