Overnight guests at the home of Pat Remington on Aug. 6 were her grandsons, Cody and Mackenzie of Oskaloosa, and James and Christopher of Mount Pleasant. They enjoyed playing cards and board games. Their mom, Angela Garmoe of Mount Pleasant, joined them on Aug. 7.
Providing the evening meal of Aug. 7 at the home of Winifred Fritz were her children, Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield, and Tony and Lynn Fritz.
On Aug. 5, Winifred received a telephone call from her grandson Isaac of Springfield, Missouri.
Gerald and Rosemary Pacha celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends on the last weekend in July. Saturday evening, July 30, they hosted a reception and dance at the KC Hall in Washington. A special ?thank you? was extended to Rosemary?s sister, Chris Turnipseed of Moline, Illinois, and family friend Jean Frazer of Iowa City for the video and pictures. On Sunday, July 31, they renewed their wedding vows at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, where they were married 50 years ago. After church services, family and relatives joined Rosemary and Gerald for a picnic/party on the pond at their farm. They were blessed by all the good wishes from those in attendance and the many cards they received. It made a beautiful weekend a memorable one. They would especially like to thank their children, Jeff and Michelle Pacha of Wichita, Kansas, and Jennifer and Brian Phillips of Johnston.
Monte Schooley and family of Iowa City celebrated his birthday on Aug. 7. They had a lunch celebration at the home of his mother, Shirley Schooley.
Brighton?s Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met at Loriann?s Restaurant in Richland on Aug. 9. Fourteen P.E.O. and B.I.L. members enjoyed the social gathering.
The Krony Krew Club met on Aug. 10 at the home of Sarah Robison. Bridge was played at two tables. Their next meeting will be held on Aug. 24 at the home of Dorothy Miller.
St. Joseph and Cabrini Altar and Rosary met on Aug. 9 to plan for their annual church dinner and bazaar, which will be held on the fourth Sunday, Sept. 25, this year. Members met to prepare the food lists and job assignments. The dinner, featuring pork loin and turkey with dressing and lots of pie, will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The large auction will begin at 1 p.m. There will also be a silent auction for smaller items. An apple booth will feature caramel apples, apple cookies, Whoopee pies and apple mix. There will also be a concession stand, kids? games, and horse-and carriage-rides. Everyone is welcome to attend.
