Pat Remington of Brighton with daughter Brandy Poli of Waukee left Nov. 28 for Tennessee. They visited Pat's son Travis and Jamie of Cosby. They also made several trips to Knoxville to visit Pat's granddaughter Coraline at the University of Tennessee Hospital.

Pat Remington of Brighton with daughter Brandy Poli of Waukee left Nov. 28 for Tennessee. They visited Pat?s son Travis and Jamie of Cosby. They also made several trips to Knoxville to visit Pat?s granddaughter Coraline at the University of Tennessee Hospital.
On Nov. 30, Pat and Brandy went to North Carolina to view the Biltmore Mansion. They were joined on Dec. 1 and 2 by Pat?s sister Pam and Bill Mogensen of Dickson, Tennessee, and Pam?s friend Candy of Nashville. They spent time shopping and sightseeing in Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Cosby and Knoxville.
Pat and Brandy left on Dec. 2 and returned home on Dec. 3.
Enjoying the evening meal of Dec. 3 at the home of Winifred Fritz were her children, Tony and Lynn Fritz of Brighton, and Mary and Joel Boatright of Fairfield. Also present were Mary?s children, Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield, and J.D. and Becky Hollingsworth of Packwood. They worked putting up Winifred?s Christmas decorations.
Grayson Symmonds, daughter of Nolan and Kelli, celebrated her 1st birthday on Dec. 2, at their home in Kalona. Special guests enjoying the birthday dinner party were grandparents Jane and Virgil Symmonds of Fairfield, and great-grandmother Winifred Fritz.
Shirley Schooley and Ginny Brinton attended the open house for Pearl Arnold?s 90th birthday. It was held at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington on Dec. 3.
Gerald and Rosemary Pacha hosted Thanksgiving/early Christmas for her brothers and sisters and their families. They came from Illinois, Indiana, Kansas and Iowa. Those who came in Wednesday evening gathered at Pizza Ranch. Following Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, a fun afternoon and evening of Christmas games and gifts took place. Everyone received a colorful stocking hat full of goodies. Family pictures followed in their hats. They gathered again Friday morning for breakfast and a day of shopping at their favorite places in Washington, Kalona, and Iowa City, and returned to the Pacha farm for chili and card games.
Chapter AQ, P.E.O., had a social meeting on Dec. 5. It was held at the home of Rosemary Pacha. Approximately 15 members were present for the dinner and gift exchange. Their next meeting will be held in February.
