On Aug. 13, Winifred Fritz was visited by her grandson Nolan and Kelli Symmonds of Kalona. They all went to Fairfield to the home of Virgil and Jane Symmonds. On Aug. 13, Winifred Fritz was visited by her grandson Nolan and Kelli Symmonds of Kalona. They all went to Fairfield to the home of Virgil and Jane Symmonds. A belated birthday surprise party was held for Jane. Among the guests were Winifred?s daughter Rita Berry with Isaac and friend Dakota of Bates City, Missouri, and Winifred?s brother, Herb Moeller of Wever. Rita, Isaac and Dakota had come after attending a Twins-Royals baseball game in Minnesota. Herb, Rita, Isaac and Dakota were overnight guests of Winifred?s that evening. Rita and the boys left early Sunday morning. Herb and Winifred attended Mass at St. Joseph Church before he returned home on Aug. 14.
Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield, and J.D. and Becky Hollingsworth of Packwood, visited Winifred Fritz on Aug. 14.
Lucy Dietzman of Keosauqua and her mother, Winifred Fritz, attended the funeral visitation for Mary Dorothy Manternach in Manchester on Aug. 16. Mary was the mother of Lynn Fritz in Brighton. Lynn is married to Winifred?s son Tony.
William Walker took a motorcycle round trip to Seattle, Washington. He left on Aug. 1 to visit his son, Daniel Andrew Walker. He returned home on Aug. 11.
On Aug. 4, Nelson Smith took his mother, Caryl Smith, to Fairmont, Minnesota. They met Caryl?s son David of Clearbrook, Minnesota. Caryl went to Clearbrook with David for an enjoyable visit. They were joined by David?s family, including his son from Aberdeen, South Dakota, and his grandson from Fargo, North Dakota. A dinner party was held for 25 family members on Aug. 5. Twenty-seven friends and family members attended a dinner party on Aug. 6, both held at David?s home. David and Caryl met Nelson in Fairmont on Aug. 7. Caryl returned to Brighton with Nelson.
Tony and Angela Garmoe with sons Jimmy and Christopher of Mount Pleasant, and Cody and Mackenzie of Oskaloosa, visited her mother, Pat Remington, on Aug. 13.
On Aug. 15, Pat met her sister Kathy, of Chariton, in Ottumwa. They celebrated Kathy?s birthday, dining and shopping.
