Pat Remington met her daughter, Angela Garmoe with James of Mount Pleasant, in Washington on May 6. They dined at Mi Pueblo Real to celebrate James? 16th birthday, which was May 5.
Maurice Pacha observed his 80th birthday on May 4. He was surprised by the arrival of all of Maurice and Kathryn?s children and grandchildren and their families.
On May 5, Winifred Fritz was visited by her daughter Jane Symmonds of Fairfield, who had brought flowers for Winifred. They also enjoyed the evening meal together.
Joel and Mary Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield took her mother, Winifred, to pick out flowers on May 6.
Lucy Dietzman with Malcolm and Brenden of Keosauqua visited her mother, Winifred, on May 7. They worked in the garden that afternoon.
Providing the evening meal of May 15 at Winifred?s home were her children, Joel and Mary with Bridget of Fairfield, Greg and Deb Fritz of Fairfield, and Tony and Lynn Fritz of Brighton. Winifred received more flowers that afternoon.
Rosemary and Gerald Pacha were in Kansas City Friday and Saturday to attend the Midwest Tea Festival. Rosemary?s sister, Susan Seglie of Pittsburg, Kansas, met them at the festival. While there, they visited with many different tea companies, saw a variety of tea equipment, and sampled lots of different teas Rosemary attended a lecture session given by author Bruce Richardson. ?Tea Rex,? the dinosaur, was there to greet people and pose for pictures. Saturday evening, Gerald and Rosemary met their daughter, Jennifer Phillips, and attended ? The Book of Mormon? play at the Civic Center in Des Moines. On Sunday after church services, they all went out for Mother?s Day brunch at the Machine Shed Restaurant in Des Moines. On Monday, Rosemary was in Marion to give a tea program for mothers and daughters at Willow Creek Care Center.
St. Joseph and Cabrini Altar and Rosary group met for their monthly meeting, Tuesday afternoon. Prayer time was led by Winifred Fritz. Connie Fritz reported she had sent get-well and sympathy cards to several members of the parish. Deb Greiner gave the treasurer?s report. Shirley Van Dee told about some upcoming events.
Several women from the area churches attended the Mother?s Day Salad Supper held May 11 at Hope Lutheran Church. Everyone enjoyed the good food, good entertainment and having a good time together.
