A total of 110 people enjoyed the fish fry provided by the Brighton Lions Club. It was held March 28 at the Brighton Community Center. A thank-you is extended to the many volunteers and for donations; and a special thank-you is extended to Harlan Craff, who cooked the fish to perfection.

Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met at the home of Joyce Dunbar on March 25. Beverley Kephart was a co-host. Twelve members were present. Joyce gave the program on her trip to Peru (which she took last year). Their next meeting will be on April 15 at the home of Sarah Robison. Diane Stacy will be her co-host.

On March 27, Tony Fritz of Brighton, with friend Lynn of North Liberty, took his nieces Julia and Sophia Fritz to the home of his mother, Winifred Fritz. Tony grilled the noon meal to celebrate Julia?s birthday, which is March 23.

Greg and Deb Fritz, Jane and Virgil Symmonds, and Mary Stecker with Bridget Hollingsworth, all of Fairfield, and Tony Fritz with friend Lynn, provided the evening meal of March 30 at the home of their mother, Winifred Fritz.

Eleven people from Brighton?s First Church of God were baptized on March 30, 2014. They included Coral Entsminger, Hope Entsminger, Michael Entsminger, Sarah Bender, Sarah Meader, Kaden Meader, Maddie Tuggle, Jayden Long, Leslie Lloyd, Krista Schreiber, and Amanda Schrurbon. The baptism ceremony took place at the YMCA in Washington. The Rev. Ryan Meader, with the help of Stan Meader and Scott Entsminger, did the honors.
