Paul Shelangoski celebrated his birthday on June 23 at Carlos O'Kelly's in Iowa City. He was joined by his wife, Connie, their granddaughter Japonica and fiancé Jay, of Mt. Pleasant, and his brother, Bob Shelangoski, of Brighton. On June 23, Bob and Paul Shelangoski traveled to Birmingham. They attended a family reunion. They enjoyed meeting relatives they'd never met and others they hadn't seen for several years.
Enjoying the evening meal of June 23 at the home of Winifred Fritz was her grandson J.D. Hollingsworth, of Packwood. They were joined by Winifred's children, Mary and Joel Boatright, of Fairfield, and Tony and Lynn Fritz, of Brighton.
Tony and Joe Fritz visited their mother, Winifred Fritz, on June 26.
Winifred Fritz received a phone call from her grandson Isaac Berry, of Springfield, Mo., on June 26.
Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met June 25 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington. Eleven members toured the new fitness center at the U.P. Home. Following the tour, they gathered at the home of Joyce Wilson in Washington, for the meeting and refreshments. Ruth Stacy and Joyce were co-hosts. They will vacation for the next two months.
The Krony Krew Club met June 26 at the home of Shirley Schooley. Bridge was played at two tables. Their next meeting will be held July 10 at the home of Sarah Robison.
A dozen people from Fairfield, Washington, Wayland and Brighton met on July 4 to celebrate becoming free from their hurts, habits and hangups.
The evening included dinner; praise and worship music; optional small group sharing; and a lesson on making amends to those we have harmed and offering forgiveness to those who have harmed us.
The next weekly meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit or hangup, will be held Thursday, July 11, at the Brighton Church of God beginning at 6 p.m. with a free meal.
