Joyce Dunbar and Rosemary Pacha have returned from a nine-day tour of the Carolinas. They spent three days in Charleston, S.C. While there they toured the city, the magnolia gardens, a tea plantation, Fort Sumter and many historical sites as well as the bay and the Atlantic Ocean. They spent two days in Ashville, N.C., where they visited the Biltmore Mansion and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Joyce Dunbar and Rosemary Pacha have returned from a nine-day tour of the Carolinas. They spent three days in Charleston, S.C. While there they toured the city, the magnolia gardens, a tea plantation, Fort Sumter and many historical sites as well as the bay and the Atlantic Ocean. They spent two days in Ashville, N.C., where they visited the Biltmore Mansion and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
On the ferry ride to Fort Sumter, they met Dennis Edwards, son of Dean and Jeanette Edwards and formerly of Brighton. He lives and works in Raleigh, N.C. They were all surprised to see one another there and commented, ?It?s a small world.?
On March 29, Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth, and Jane and Virgil Symmonds, all of Fairfield, enjoyed the evening meal with their mother, Winifred Fritz.
Tony Fritz of Brighton with friend Lynn of North Liberty, and Greg and Deb Fritz of Fairfield, enjoyed March 28 at the home of their mother, Winifred Fritz.
A belated birthday celebration was held for Julia Fritz, 14, on March 30. It was held at the home of her grandmother, Winifred Fritz. Julia was there with her father, Joe. Her Uncle Tony grilled the evening meal. Tony?s friend Lynn was also present.
The Community Garden Committee is looking for volunteers to help plant and work in the garden. If the weather cooperates, the first session will be at 4 p.m. on April 15. All ages can help. Just meet at the garden, located in the 500 block of South Jefferson Street in Brighton.
