On July 21, Tony and Lynn Fritz with his mother, Winifred Fritz, all of Brighton, attended the 4 p.m. Mass at the KC Hall in Washington. Following Mass, they attended the 100th anniversary celebration of the KC Hall's Council No. 2008. The council first held its meetings in a house. The group moved to a building in Washington before building the current KC Hall.
Grant Dunbar, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, participated in the International Juggling Competition held June 27 in Indianapolis, Indiana. His team won the Bronze. Grant is the grandson of Joyce Dunbar.
Pat Remington, of Brighton, met her daughter Angela Garmoe with Christopher, of Mt. Pleasant, at Riverside III in Fairfield on July 19. Christopher returned to Brighton to spend the weekend with his grandma. On July 20, Pat and Christopher went to Oskaloosa to visit his brother, Cody and Mackenzie. They all enjoyed dining at Taco John's, the Mahaska County Fair, shopping, and dining at Tasos' Steak House. On July 21, Pat and Christopher went shopping in Washington and then met his mother at Riverside III in Fairfield.
Mary Boatright, of Fairfield, visited her mother, Winifred Fritz, on July 19.
Bridget Hollingsworth, of Fairfield, with friend Trish, of Chicago, Illinois, visited her grandma, Winifred Fritz, from noon to 3 p.m. on July 21.
Pat Remington met her son Travis Remington with Coraline, of Cosby, Tennessee; and her daughter Angela Garmoe with Christopher, of Mt. Pleasant, at Dino's in Washington on July 24. Pat went to Ainsworth with Travis and Coraline to meet some friends.
Nearly 20 people from Washington, Brighton, Fairfield, and Wayland attended a Celebrate Recovery picnic party event at the Brighton City Park on Thursday, Aug. 1. All joined in a special prayer of installation for the incoming leader of Celebration Place, the children's curriculum for Celebrate Recovery ministries.
The next weekly meeting, open to anyone with a hurt, habit, or hangup, will be Thursday, Aug. 8 at the Brighton Church of God beginning at 6 p.m.
