A bridal shower for Hallie Williams and Isaac Berry, of Springfield, Mo., was held on April 13. The shower was held at the home of his aunt, Lucy Dietzman, in Keosauqua. His mother, Rita Berry, with Megan; his grandmother, Winifred Fritz; his aunts; her grandmother; and her great-grandmother were all able to attend.
That evening, Winifred made pizza for Rita, Megan, Isaac and Hallie.
Greg and Deb Fritz, of Fairfield, visited his mother, Winifred Fritz, on April 14. Greg fried fish for the evening meal. They were joined by Winifred's children and grandchildren: Joel and Mary Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth, of Fairfield; Tony Fritz, Joe Fritz, of Brighton; and J.D. Hollingsworth, of Packwood.
Tony Fritz took his mother, Winifred, to Mt. Pleasant on April 15 to do some shopping.
Winifred Fritz with her children Tony and Lynn Fritz of Brighton, Lucy Dietzman of Keosauqua, and Charles Fritz of Sigourney, left April 27 for Stockton, Mo. They attended the April 27 wedding of Winifred's grandson Isaac Berry to Hallie Williams. The wedding was held outside by the lake at 6 p.m. Winifred came home the afternoon of April 28 with her daughter Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth, all of Fairfield.
Pat Remington and friend Jason, of Brighton, went to Oskaloosa on April 27. They met Pat's grandson Cody and Mackenzie, of Oskaloosa, at Tasos'.
Kathy Babberl and friend Wayne, of Chariton, visited her sister, Pat Remington, in Brighton on May 1.
Pat Remington, of Brighton, with daughters Angela and Tony Garmoe, of Mt. Pleasant, and Brandy Poli, of Waukee, flew to Tennessee on April 10. On April 13 they attended the wedding of Pat's son Travis to Jamie Reinhardt, of Tennessee. The wedding was held at Sunset Gap. Approximately 45 people attended, including their daughter Coraline; Jamie's parents, Carl and Gloria, of Georgia; Jamie's brother Will and Gina, of England; and their aunt and uncle, Larry and Elaine Bates, of Arizona. Also present were Travis' aunts, Pam and Bill Mogensen, of Tennessee, and Kathy with friend Wayne, of Chariton, Iowa. Brandy's husband Chris was also able to attend. They did a lot of sightseeing in Sevierville, Newport, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. They also enjoyed the Smoky Mountains. Pat, Angela and Tony flew home April 16.
On April 12, Jane Symmonds, of Fairfield, took her mother, Winifred Fritz, to Pizza Ranch in Washington.
They met Jane's son Nolan and Kellie with their three sons, of Kalona.
Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met April 9 at the home of Joyce Dunbar in Brighton. Sarah Robison was the co-hostess. Fourteen members were present. Joyce gave the program on State Fair Trivia. Their next meeting was scheduled for April 23 at the home of Marcella Loeffler.
Approximately a dozen people (from Brighton, Fairfield, Mt. Pleasant and Wayland) attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting May 2. The evening included praise & worship music, optional small group sharing and the recovery story of Jamie, who struggled with ongoing anger and was imprisoned for the murder of her abusive husband. The next weekly meeting, open to anyone with a hurt, habit or hangup, will be held Thursday, May 16, at the Brighton Church of God, beginning at 6 p.m., with a free meal.
