On Oct.17, Fritz and Nancy Gowey with Linda McKay of Milan, Illinois, enjoyed lunch at the home of his sister, Ginny Brinton.
Fred and Millie Robinson of Newburg, Oregon, visited friends and relatives in Brighton and surrounding communities. They arrived Oct. 16 and returned home Oct. 22.
Danny and Hazel Greiner attended the funeral for Garry Deitrich of Ollie. It was held Oct. 8 at the Ollie Baptist Church. On the evening of Oct. 8, Danny and Hazel attended the 80th birthday party for Mary Lou Miller. Mary and Danny were co-workers in the ?50s and ?60s.
Pat Remington enjoyed dining at Pizza Ranch in Mount Pleasant with her grandsons James and Christopher Garmoe on Oct. 16.
A hayride was held at the home of Winifred Fritz on Oct. 15. Approximately 35 relatives and a friend were able to attend, including all eight of Winifred?s children. Rita?s husband, Tim Berry of Bates City, Missouri, arrived Oct. 15. He had been in Galt, Missouri, visiting his parents. Tim returned home the morning of Oct. 16. Winifred and Rita were joined the evening of Oct. 16 by Winifred?s daughter Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield, and Tony?s wife Lynn of Brighton.
Rita Berry returned home on Oct. 18, after spending nine days with her mother. Winifred enjoyed seeing the photos Rita had taken from the Berrys? family vacations to North Carolina; South Carolina; Seattle, Washington; and Indiana. She also enjoyed the photos from the trip that Rita, Isaac, a friend, and Bridget had taken to Minnesota.
Brighton Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met Oct. 18 at the home of Cathy Rich. The co-hostess was Marcella Loeffler. Twelve members were present. President Joyce Wilson conducted the meeting. Cathy gave the program on the Riverside Foundation grants. Their next meeting will be Nov. 1 at the home of Shirley Schooley. Her co-hostess will be Carolyn Christner.
Rosemary Pacha was a guest speaker for the Iowa County Heartland Quilters in Williamsburg, Tuesday evening. The title of her talk and display was ?Tea At the white House.? This event was held at the Highland Ridge Retirement Center. Glen and Betty Mullikin, former residents of Brighton, now live at the center and were at the program. Gerald and Rosemary enjoyed visiting with them in their apartment earlier in the evening.
