Rita Berry, of Bates City, Mo., visited her mother, Winifred Fritz, May 3-7.
Jesse Fritz was honored for his Sigourney High School graduation on May 4. An open house was held at the family home of his parents, Charles and Deb Fritz, with Nathan, of Sigourney. Among the guests were his grandma, Winifred Fritz, of Brighton; and his aunts and uncle, Tony and Lynn Fritz, of Brighton; Rita Berry, of Mo.; and Lucy Dietzman, of Keosauqua.
Tony and Lynn Fritz, of Brighton, Rita Berry, of Missouri, and Lucy Dietzman, of Keosauqua with their mother, Winifred Fritz, of Brighton, attended Mass in Sigourney on May 5.
On May 5, guests at the home of Winifred Fritz were her children, Rita Berry, of Missouri; Jane and Virgil Symmonds, of Fairfield; and Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth, of Fairfield. Winifred and Rita made a trip to Washington on May 6. Tony Fritz grilled the noon meal of May 7 at Winifred's home. They were joined by Winifred's son, Joe, of Brighton. Rita left later that afternoon.
Pat Remington and friend Jason, of Brighton, went to Fairfield on May 6. They met Pat's grandson, James Garmoe, of Mt. Pleasant, at Riverside III. They celebrated James' 20th birthday, which was May 5.
Jason Roberts had a friend from Douds visit him the weekend of May 3.
Jason Roberts attended the wedding of his cousin Jordan DeWolf, to Kendra. It was held May 5 at Lake Darling.
Amy Schneider, of Brighton, graduated on Saturday, May 4, from Upper Iowa University. She earned an MBA degree with an emphasis in organizational development. Her husband, Andy, and their sons, Andrew and wife Karlee of Pella, and Gregory of Iowa City, attended the graduation ceremony.

Starting on May 17, Farmers Market in Brighton will be held every Friday until October. They will set up at Dollar General from 4-6 p.m. Fresh baked goods, pies, rolls, breads and in-season fresh vegetables will be offered.
Approximately 20 people from Brighton, Washington, Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting May 9, at the Brighton Church of God. The evening included praise and worship music, optional small group sharing and a lesson about how recovery (from any hurt, habit or hangup) requires honesty because we are only as sick as our secrets. The next weekly meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit or hangup, will be held Thursday, May 23.
at the Brighton Church of God beginning at 6 p.m. with a free meal.
