Pat Remington met her daughter Angela and Tony Garmoe with James and Christopher, of Mt. Pleasant, on May 25. They met at Riverside II in Fairfield.
Enjoying the evening meal of May 26 at the home of Winifred Fritz were her children, Tony and Lynn Fritz of Brighton, and Mary and Joel Boatright with Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield.
Shirley Schooley spent May 23-26 with the Marty Schooley family in Vernon Hills, Illinois. While there, Shirley attended the high school graduation for Kennedy Schooley.
Chapter AQ, P.E.O., met May 28 at the home of Ruth Stacy in rural Brighton. Shirley Schooley was the co-hostess. Seven members answered roll call. Ruth gave the program, 'The History of P.E.O.”
Approximately 15 people (from Brighton, Washington, Fairfield, and Wayland) attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting May 30 at the Brighton Church of God. The evening included dinner; praise & worship music; optional small group sharing; and a testimonial from a man whose recovery from abuse and addictions included this statement :”Throughout life I could perform to rules and regulations and look good on the outside, say and do all the right Christian lingo, but be dying emotionally and spiritually on the inside.” The group also helped an attendee celebrate a recovery success milestone, presenting her with a 2-year sobriety ‘chip.'
The next weekly meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit or hangup, was held Thursday, June 6, at the Brighton Church of God beginning at 6 p.m. with a free meal.
