Gerald and Rosemary Pacha attended the baptism of their grandson Ames Joseph Phillips at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Des Moines on Jan. 9. Brian and Jennifer Phillips are his parents. Following in the tradition of the children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren, Ames wore the special handmade white baptismal dress that his great-grandfather, Leroy Mineart, had worn in 1918. After the church services, the family, grandparents, godparents, and friends had dinner at the Machine Shed restaurant in Des Moines.
