Browns to celebrate 50th anniversary

Ron and Linda Brown of Washington will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 24.

Ron Brown and Linda Ranshaw married on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 24, 1971, at Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church in Swedesburg, Iowa. The Rev. Del Carstens officiated.

The Browns have two sons: Richard from San Diego, California; and Cary and wife Dawn from Brighton, Iowa. They have four grandchildren , Paula (deceased), Daegan, Dalton, and Danica from Brighton.

Linda is originally from Wayland, the daughter of the late Betty Brooks of Wayland and the late Harlan Ranshaw of Chariton.

Ron is originally from Washington, the son of the late Richard and late Mary Brown of Washington.

The couple plan to have a family celebration at a later date.

The couple are both retired from Washington Community Schools and enjoy antiquing , watching old movies, and spending time with their grandchildren.
