Buchholzes to celebrate 60 years

Lee and Lois Buchholz of Washington will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 5.

Lois Bremer and Lee Buchholz were united in marriage June 5, 1960, at St John's Lutheran Church near Metropolis, Illinois. Lee taught school first in Waterloo, then in the Columbus Community Schools for 30 years. After retirement, he taught at Kirkwood Community College in Washington and has substituted for the Washington Community School District. Lois worked at the paper in Waterloo, was church secretary for the Lutheran Church in Washington and did childcare.

They have four children; Renee (Calvin), Erik (Christy), Heidi (Andy), and Brad. They have four grandchildren.
