Courtney Burkhalter of Jefferson County was recognized as a graduate of Iowa Farm Bureau Federation’s Ag Leaders Institute during Iowa Farm Bureau Federation’s 107th annual meeting held Dec. 9-10 in Des Moines.
The Institute is a yearlong training program for emerging county Farm Bureau leaders. Through working sessions, participants develop skills to become effective community members, volunteers, advocates or elected officials.
“Graduates of the Ag Leaders Institute play a vital role in shaping agriculture in their local communities and positively influencing state and national policy,” said Brent Johnson, Iowa Farm Bureau president. “We look forward to seeing them use their leadership skills to advocate for farmers and ensure a strong future for Iowa agriculture.”
To date, the Ag Leaders Institute has recognized more than 500 graduates.
