Cake walk
Mackenzie Martin keeps her eyes on the numbers taped to the floor during a cake walk Wednesday afternoon in the old county school on the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Gloria Countryman, who attended the school when it sat northwest of Fairfield, gave a history lesson and answered questions about country schools before the cake walk. Countryman plans to have cake walks again at 4:30 p.m. today and Friday.
