Sue Hopper began Camp Grandma eight years ago to give children in Lockridge something fun to do, and is now an annual event.
It is a week of crafts, radio-controlled boat racing, horseback riding lessons and more.
A lake provides daily opportunities to body-surf on a 200-foot slip-n-slide, slide down inflatable water slides, paddle-boats and canoes. A certified lifeguard, life jackets, and many volunteers help make it a safe experience.
Two Bible lessons are given each day and there is a time of praise and worship. The camp motto is: ?God gives us opportunities each day to make a difference in somebody else?s life by our words and actions.?
Camp is June 26-29, and openings are available.
The deadline to sign up is May 6. Call Don and Sue Hopper at 319-750-0814 for more information request a registration form.
Camp Grandma is located in Lockridge on 135 acres at Vision Ministries, Inc. It is sponsored by Signs and Wonders, LLC and operated by Don and Sue Hopper.
The Hoppers also have a Wednesday after school ministry for kids at the Signs and Wonders Christian Civic Center at the four-way stop in Lockridge.
