The first Cancer Cruise Night to raise money for the American Cancer Society through the Jefferson County Relay for Life will be held Saturday beginning at 5 p.m.
The group will meet at the Jefferson County Health Center front parking lot for the ?Cruise for a Cause,? a ride to Burlington featuring classic cars, as well as common, driven-daily cars and motorcycles.
Each vehicle will donate $20.
The group will cruise to Burlington for a meal at The Drake. The group also could sneak in a trip to the Catfish Bend Casino in Burlington, said organizer Amy Johnson.
Johnson said she planned the Cruise for a Cause because cancer has touched the lives of her family members, and because people like to go on cruises, but no cruises are organized in the Fairfield area. She hopes to make the Cancer Cruise Night an annual event.
