Card shower being held for birthday

Max Hollander of Fairfield will celebrate his 95th birthday Feb. 10.

Mr. Hollander was born Feb. 10, 1922 in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1939. He married Maizie Berg in 1943 and served with the 843rd Engineer Aviation Army Battalion in Europe from 1943-1946.

Mr. Hollander and his wife have farmed and operated an insurance business in Fairfield for many years.

Mr. Hollander has two daughters: Mary Ann Young and her husband, Bill, of Des Moines; Karen Bush of Ankeny; and has one granddaugher and two great-grandchildren in Ankeny.

With support from Joyce Calhoun, his caregiver, Mr. Hollander resides at 2835 Salina Road, Fairfield, IA, 52556.
