Cardinal school presents ?Mary Poppins? musical

ELDON ? Cardinal middle and senior high schools will present the musical ?Mary Poppins? at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday in the Cardinal High School Gymnasium.
Mary Poppins is the lead character in a series of eight children?s books written by P. L. Travers. She is a magical English nanny blown by the East wind to Number 17 Cherry Tree Lane, London, and into the Banks?s household to care for their children. Encounters with chimney sweeps and various adventures follow until Mary Poppins leaves.
The two-act play includes many of the well-known songs from the Disney ?Mary Poppins? movie, including ?A Spoonful of Sugar,? ?Supercalifragillisticexpialisoucious,? ?Step in Time? and many more.

The cast includes: Megan Miller and Montgomery Laughlin as Mary Poppins and Bert;
Luke Miller and Paige Evans as George and Winifred Banks; and Trista Benedict and Jarrett Greiner play their children, Jane and Michael.
Kristian Trout plays Mrs. Brill; Jimmy Greer is Robertson Aye; Tony Fetter plays the bank chairman; Madi Black is Doll; Joel Pedersen, Jeremy Hissem and Les Sheperd are bankers; and Alesia Stanton is a sweep.
Many cast members are in double rolls. Dagisteno Shilling is a policeman and Herr Van Hussler; Dane Dickinson is Admiral Boom and a banker; Alexis Danger is Miss Lark and a bank clerk; Jordan Langford is Neleus and a bank clerk; Lydia Moses is Valentine and a sweep; Ciera Young is Mr. Northbrook and a statue;
Kayla Irvine-Owings plays Teddy Bear and a bank clerk; Hallie Rush is Katie Nanna and a park stroller; and Hannah Martinez is a kite flyer and a park stroller.
Some cast members are even triple cast: Ryley McElderry plays Miss Andrews, Bird Woman and a sweep; Dakota Durflinger is Mrs. Corry, a statue and a sweep; and Kristian Sanders is a bank clerk, a kite flyer and a park stroller.
The crew includes artistic director Luke Miller, music director Katie Steeby-Riegel and accompanist Dennis Willhoit.
Michael Thompson is the special effects specialist. Abby Ragen is on the sound crew, Shay Harnden is on the stage lights crew, and Zoie Owings controls the spotlight. Ryan Johnson is in charge of the curtain, and Randi Short is on the stage crew.
The pit orchestra members are: flutist Mary McClenathan; clarinetist Jennifer Miller; cellist Donna Nelson; horn player Carita Conrade; trumpeter Francis Thicke; trombonist Jim Wotherspoon; and bass player Gerry Runyon.

Admission to the show is $7 for an adult and $5 for a student.
