The 1993 Vermont Playwrights Award-winning play by Alan Haehnel takes the audience back to the days of radio entertainment, with realistic sound effects, dramatic organ music and actors painting a picture with their voices.
It?s 1948, it?s the dead of winter, and it?s time for ?Loving Lives,? a radio soap opera on its last legs. This episode is filled with drama of the backstage variety: the building is falling apart, the sound effects are limited, off-stage romances lead to jealously on air, and the lights go out in the middle of the broadcast. A pompous romantic lead, an incapacitated announcer and an obnoxious kazoo-tooting child star all contribute to the hilarious demise of the radio show, and listeners at home can only imagine the choas happening in the studio.
The cast includes: Logan Rachford, Alexis Adam, Josh Ramos, Taylor Howard, Ryley McElderry, Trevor Albert, Taylor Blunt, Ellen Peters, Hannah Belzer, Dakota Durflinger, Nate Steele and Jarrett Greiner.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students.
