The Carnegie Historical Museum in Fairfield is hosting a patriotic poster contest to honor the Fourth of July.
Poster boards can be picked up at First National Bank, Iowa State Bank, the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the museum. Participants should put their name, age and phone number on the back of their poster, and turn it into the museum at 112 S. Court St. in Fairfield between 1-4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays now through July 2.
Entries will be displayed during Fairfield First Fridays from 6-9 p.m. July 2. The winner from each category will be contacted on July 3.
Winners will be chosen from three categories: kindergarten through fifth grade, sixth through 12th grade, and adult. Winners will get a prize package that includes chamber bucks, and everyone who enters the contest can earn a free museum T-shirt.
