‘Catch Me If You Can’ performances begin Friday

KEOSAUQUA - The Van Buren Community Players will present the musical comedy 'Catch Me If You Can” this weekend.
Performances are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Roberts Memorial Center north of Keosauqua. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m.
'Catch Me If You Can” is based on the hit DreamWorks film and the incredible true story of the highflying adventures of a globe-trotting con artist. It is about chasing your dreams and not getting caught.
Nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, this entertaining show was created by a Tony Award-winning 'dream team,” with a book by Terrence McNally ('The Full Monty,” 'Ragtime”) and a swinging score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman ('Hairspray”).
The Van Buren Community Players actors and actresses have been working hard on this production over the last few months. Many familiar community faces are involved in the production.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for youth age 18 and younger. A special price of $8 is offered to seniors for the Sunday matinee. Tickets can be ordered in advance by calling First Iowa State Bank at 319-293-3794. Remaining seats will be sold at the door the day of performances.
