Celebrate recovery

Approximately 30 people from Brighton, Wayland, Olds, Washington and Fairfield (including one newcomer) attended a Celebrate Recovery (CR) meeting Jan. 23 at the Brighton Church of God.

The evening included dinner, optional small group sharing, and a testimony from a survivor of abuse who felt confused and ashamed and experienced sexual addiction through his young adult years until God used CR to break through his denial and heal his relationships.

A local CR Worship band is beginning to form and led in praise and worship music.

Also conducted was the companion program for children ages 5-13 called Celebration Place. Four children attended Celebration Place.

The next weekly Celebrate Recovery/Celebration Place meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup and their children ages 5-13, will be Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Brighton Church of God. It will begin at 6 p.m. with a free meal. Free child care is available for children under 5.
