Thirty people from Brighton, Wayland, Olds, Washington and Fairfield, attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting Feb. 13 at the Brighton Church of God. The evening included dinner, praise & worship music, optional small group sharing; and a lesson about how recovery from hurts, habits and hangups does require action in establishing a spiritual basis for one's life.
Milestone coins were presented to two people who are making great strides in recovery from addictions, one for 9 months, and one for two years. In addition, two people who have completed a targeted group step study (held independently from the weekly CR meetings) were installed into leadership.
Also conducted was the companion program for children ages 5-13 called Celebration Place. Four children attended Celebration Place.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery/Celebration Place meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup will be Thursday, February 20 at the Brighton Church of God. It will begin at 6 p.m. with a free meal. Free child care is available for children under 5.
