Celebrate recovery

Nearly 40 people from Brighton, Wayland, Washington and Fairfield (including 2 newcomers), attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting Dec. 12 at the Brighton Church of God.

The evening included dinner, praise and worship music, optional small group sharing and a lesson on realizing that we are powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors, and that our lives have become unmanageable.

Also conducted was the companion program for children ages 5-13 called Celebration Place. Six children attended Celebration Place.

The next weekly Celebrate Recovery/Celebration Place meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup and their children ages 5-13, will be Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Brighton Church of God and will include a Christmas party. It will begin at 6 PM with a free meal. Free childcare is available for children under 5.
