Twenty-seven people from Brighton, Fairfield, Wayland, and Washington, including one newcomer, met at the Brighton Community Church July 16. The evening included praise and worship music, optional individual sharing and a testimonial from Ken and Tammy, whose experience with Celebrate Recovery has brought a wholeness to their individual recoveries from their pasts which included childhood sexual abuse, parentally arranged abortion for a teen girl and more.
The evening began with a shared meal and child care was provided for six children. The group was also reminded of several upcoming items:
(1) there will be a group viewing at BCC of the online annual CR Summit on July 31 and August 1 ( one day after each live event); anyone can register at www.crsummits.com;
(2) there will be a meeting Sunday afternoon, July 26, about plans for reinstituting Celebration Place (the CR program for children ages 5-13);
(3) the online meal contribution sign up system has been relaunched; please visit http://www.bit.ly/CelebrateRecoveryBrightonMealSignUp to help provide meal items; and
(4) CR Brighton will host the Josh Gilbert Band August 6 during a regular CR meeting.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup, will be Thursday, July 23 at the Brighton Community Church at 6 p.m.
