Fifteen people from Brighton, Washington, Fairfield, Wayland, Olds and Iowa City met at the Brighton Community Church May 21. The evening included praise & worship music, optional individual sharing and a testimonial from Nate who began experiencing mental health challenges at the age of 10. Falling into depression, he suffered from suicidal thoughts and even attempted to take his own life. After hitting rock bottom, he gave his life to Christ and got involved with Celebrate Recovery.
Everyone was reminded that (1) a ‘Welcome Back to CR in Brighton Praise and Pizza Party' is scheduled for Thursday, June 4 outdoors at BCC during the regular meeting time; and (2) the national Online Celebrate Recovery Summit will be held this summer July 30 and 31, and CR Brighton is planning a central location for viewing and participation.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery support, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup, will be Thursday, May 28 at the Brighton Community Church at 6 PM. Men will meet upstairs and women will meet downstairs.
