Celebrate Recovery meets
N/A
May. 8, 2020 1:00 am
Sixteen people from Brighton, Washington, Fairfield, Olds and Wayland (plus one online attendee) met at the Brighton Community Church May 7. The evening included praise & worship music, optional individual sharing and the testimony of Harmony, who, abandoned by her mother, landed in an abusive and exploitative relationship which led to working in the sex industry.
After giving her life to Christ, Harmony started a non-profit called Treasures, which helps other victims who are exploited and trafficked. But even as a Christian, she continued to have relationships with sexually addicted men and struggled with control issues until she found God's redemption in her recovery.
Also at the meeting, coins representing 7 months and one year of progress were presented to two individuals successfully overcoming addictions.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery support, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup, will be Thursday, May 14 at the Brighton Community Church at 6 p.m. Men will meet upstairs and women will meet downstairs.
